A New Crazy 8 Anthology: PANGAEA

Millions of years ago (or, if you believe the opinions of some scientifically-challenged individuals, a few thousand years ago) all the land masses of the world were formed into a single super-continent that has come to be known as Pangaea. Eventually Pangaea split into the world that we know now.

Except…what if it hadn’t?

That is the question posed in the new Crazy 8 anthology PANGAEA which is now available at some of your better retail establishments such as Amazon.

All of the Crazy 8 authors, plus a few guests, contribute to PANGAEA, detailing a story that naturally goes off in a variety of directions but also drives through one single tale from beginning to end. I know, because I wrote the final story.

And I had lots of company: stories by Michael A. Burstein, Adam-Troy Castro, Russ Colchamiro, Kevin Dilmore, Michael Jan Friedman, Robert Greenberger, Glenn Hauman, Paul Kupperberg, Kelly Meding, Aaron Rosenberg, Lawrence M. Schoen, Geoffrey Thorne, and Dayton Ward.

So if you’re interested in supporting Crazy 8 and independent publishing, come get PANGAEA!

You can get it here.

And you can click here for the Kindle version.

    1. There should be one already up. Not sure why Amazon is dicking around.

I’m told that B&N has it digitally.

    2. The digital version was recently made available for Kickstarter backers, so I presume it will also be available to everyone eventually.

  1. I’ve read the first 9 out of the 13 stories so far. There has been quite a variety of style in the stories and all have been very interesting. At least one of them will be on my Hugo nomination list (and I’ll probably nominate the collection itself in the Related category).

  2. I have an off topic question for you. I’m writing up an article on the second Sin Eater arc and saw in a place where someone remembers that you were not a fan of the static electricity as a means for Spidey to stick to walls and was made to do it by Jim Shooter. However, I’ve done some considerable searching and cannot find you saying that anywhere or anything on Shooter’s blog confirming it. Do you mind telling me if this is true?

    Thank you.

    1. First of all, I don’t think Jim had anything to do with explaining how Spidey sticks to walls. I believe it was Mark Greenwald who came up with that in producing the Marvel Handbook. Second, I’ve never said I’ve disliked it. I’ve only mentioned it in relation to when I was creating Spidey 2099. I’ve said that I didn’t want to go along the lines of the Handbook that basically explained Spidey’s wall crawling was done through advanced static electricity. Instead I gave Miguel talons on his hand to evoke how spiders actually cling to walls. That’s all.

      1. I really appreciate you taking the time to provide this explanation.

I’m reading 2099 (and thoroughly enjoying it, of course), but would sure love to see you back on regular Spidey soon.

        Thanks again!
