  1. Back in the GEnie days I came up with a third position on the abortion issue, which I called “Pro-Rights.”

About a decade later, I posted this as my very first poll question on an opinion forum that now no longer allows logins.

  2. My only problem is the implication (ok, the inference on my part) that all or most pro-life people are like the bad example in the story (I drew the inference from the blog post, not the story itself). I know waaaay to many pro-life folks who do live up to those high standard. The folks who run the foundation in Oklahoma with a goal to get every foster kid into a home and out of the group facilities (they did) are pro-life. My grandparents, who adopted 2 kids and fostered over 200 over the years were very pro-life. I think a venn diagram of folks who are actively pro-life and those who participate in foster programs, church charity, and such would show a pretty large overlap.

I do however agree that pro life does and should mean pro life, not pro 9 months, and there are folks that forget that.

  3. Okay, I read it, but have not changed my opinion: Terminating (killing) an unborn child is a vicious, barbaric & poor solution to what may be only a temporary problem.

    1. And will happen whether it’s legal or not. Better that it is done safely and cleanly so that the woman doesn’t have to pay for her decision with her life.

  4. It’s not just a seemingly single mother having trouble handling children from apparently different fathers and needing a little financial assistance. It’s also being pro-gun even after yet another mass shooting. It’s also being pro death penalty. And, in the case of politicians, it’s being all of those things while claiming to be pro-life, with his constituents not being smart enough to comprehend the discrepancy.
