We made it home

God knows it wasn’t easy. We had to deal with a plethora of canceled flights due to the storm. Fortunately enough we had the luck and resources to make it home yesterday afternoon a mere one hour behind our scheduled flight.

It is truly remarkable to be back home again. I will never forget the people like Ali and Sarah who helped rebuild my body in Florida so that I can at least walk somewhat. Now it’s up to me to continue that work over the next months in order to fully recapture what my body could do before.

  1. I’m so glad you’re back in NY and safe at home. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Mr. David!

  2. Was just thinking about that four part mystery storyline in _Hulk_ about 15-20 years ago where he gets poisoned as Banner, but then turns to the grey Hulk at night and has to figure out whodunit and how to save himself by sunup. So happy to hear PAD is back amongst the living – we need him. As somebody with a chronic illness, and who has endured four major surgeries and even two minor strokes, I know the body can heal fast. I have faith PAD will be back soon. Can’t wait.

  3. Glad you are doing well. My wife works at Florida Hospital South and while she never got a chance to work with you( she’s on the cardiac floor). Our friends did. One therapist who is a comic geek (like me) was begging to get you on her case load. Wishing you all the best.

  4. So, how long will it be before we get a video of PAD doing a Rocky IV-style training regime? 🙂

  5. So glad you’re home, Peter. Good fortune and good rehab as you go forward. Maybe we will see you at Shore Leave this year.

  6. I’m sure that if you follow exercises and prescriptions that hospital gave you, constantly, fearless, determined with the help of your brilliant brain, you’ll get back to a very good state.

    Good luck.

  7. Good to see you Home, PAD. I spread the word as soon as it happened and my friends and I have all been sending positive energies your way.

Keep up the healing. We need you back in fighting fit form.

  8. Welcome back, big guy. I’d like to say we kept the Tri-State area warm for ya, but as you can see from all the white stuff on the ground, that’s not really the case.

No doubt your loved ones at home and some of these words will take care of the warmth. 🙂

  9. Happy to hear this. My best wishes and my thoughts are with you and your family.
I’ll continue to buy as much of your stuff as possible^^
and I’m hoping for a speedy recovery.

  10. Great news. All the best for you and work hard, your mens sana needs a corpore sano…. And in Spain we need to read your work as soon as possible!!

  11. I’m glad you’ve made it home. Do your exercises religiously, long after you’re sure you don’t need them. Look into eating more healthily, because I’ve found that does make a noticeable difference. And hug your family, because that’s the best of all.

  12. I’m glad we live in an era in which “he had a stroke” is not synonymous with “he died”.

I’m also glad we live in an era in which “he had a stroke” is not necessarily synonymous with “the quality of his writing dropped precipitously”.

    Keep at it, Peter.
