In the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, I will be one of the devoted hauls of the Spidey balloon. I’ve no idea if I’ll be visible (probably not) but my understanding is that it’s scheduled to be on TV sometime between 10:30 and 10:45 tomorrow morning. (Note revised time)
For every more sane person out there (which is most of you) have a great Thanksgiving.
PAD
I really want to make a 698 joke about someone riding around inside the balloon, but I assume not everyone’s read it yet, so I guess it’ll have to wait for another day.
Sweet we’ll be watching
Don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. But then there’s crazy, crazier, craziest and Dutch. And I’m the last in that row. Have a nice day, everybody.
I too will be working the parade tomorrow (specifically the Pokemon balloons). See you there.
2011: PAD hauls the balloon for the first time.
2012: Stop the Parade!
Have fun. I’d love to see it, but I’ll be acting slightly less sane than you by spending the morning freezing in the woods with a bow and arrow in my hand while attempting to kill a large, antlered animal.
Good luck, Jerry, and here’s hoping the large antlered animal doesn’t shoot first!
A Happy Turkey (day) to everyone — and I hope the timing works out for me to see the balloon this time around!
I just got home from work, will be working tomorrow (nice pay working for USPS on a holiday), and this popped into my head for no reason, other than possibly being tired:
In another universe, is Spider-Man helping to pull a Peter David balloon?
Sounds like a classic “Marvel: What if . . . ?” story concept if ever I heard one!
My wife and I were watching for you and the whole time, NBC only showed Spiderman and none of the people working the ropes!
My wife and I were commenting that mentioning PAD helping with the balloon seems like the kind of info-bit that you’d think NBC would point out: “Interesting note, one of Spider-Man’s handlers used to be…one of Spider-Man’s handlers: Peter David, who’s written many critically-acclaimed Spider-Man comics over the years.”
Or maybe that’s just me.

Exactly! How could they not point that out. Writers need more credit on television. I am glad this year they didn’t have that awful Spiderman musical performance.
Spiderpig, Spiderpig, does whatever a Spiderpig does…(Marge gets mad and Homer drops the pig.)
Too bad you haven’t done (yet) a song about it, on the tune of “Before the parade passes by”, from Hello, Dolly.
BTW, saw the balloon on TV just a few minutes ago.
